The story

Despite what many people believe, AI doesn’t think like humans. It has no consciousness, emotions or understanding. Instead, it predicts what is most likely to come next. Before AI can answer questions, it learns from enormous amounts of information—books, websites, articles, conversations, scientific papers and computer code. AI doesn’t memorise everything. Instead, it learns patterns. It begins recognising how words, ideas and concepts are connected. When you ask a question, AI first tries to understand what you really mean—not just the words you typed. Instead of searching for one stored answer, AI predicts the next word, then the next… and the next… building a response one small step at a time. Because AI predicts rather than understands, it can sometimes sound extremely confident while still being wrong. That’s why important information should always be verified. Used well, AI can help people learn faster, work smarter and solve problems more efficiently. But like every powerful tool, the quality of the result depends on how it’s used.
